Senior Bookkeeper

• Own day-to-day finance operations including AP, AR, accounts inbox, channel postings, reconciliations, month-end, management accounts, and VAT
• Run the accounts inbox for supplier invoices, statements, remittances, and internal queries
• Code and process supplier invoices in Xero for approval
• Prepare weekly or fortnightly supplier payment runs for authorised release
• Reconcile supplier statements, refunds, credit notes, bank accounts, card statements, marketplace remittances, and payment-provider payouts
• Raise invoices, wholesale deposits, and proforma invoices in Xero, ERP, and NuORDER
• Post sales and invoice uploads for A2X, Shopify, eBay, Global-e, and John Lewis
• Chase overdue wholesale accounts and maintain aged debtors
• Handle multi-currency transactions and FX differences
• Keep ERP stock movements aligned with stock and cost-of-sales figures in Xero
• Run month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, and balance-sheet reconciliations
• Maintain the fixed-asset register
• Prepare monthly management accounts, royalty reports, and channel-level sales and margin data
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns under Making Tax Digital for review and filing
• Handle import VAT and duty, including postponed VAT accounting
• Prepare year-end schedules and support external accountants
• Implement AI tools for AP and AR
• Maintain Xero bank rules, receipt capture, and approval workflows
• Document finance processes and playbooks

• 5+ years in bookkeeping or accounting
• At least 2 years supporting UK businesses
• End-to-end AP and AR ownership in Xero
• UK VAT and Making Tax Digital experience
• Independent month-end close experience
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookups, pivots, and reconciliations
• Ability to work independently on UK hours
• Clear written English
• Experience with Xero, ERP systems such as Zedonk, NetSuite, SAP or similar, A2X, Shopify, eBay, Global-e, John Lewis, NuORDER, payment providers, receipt capture, spreadsheets, and company bank accounts
• Qualification such as AAT Level 4, part-qualified ACCA or CIMA, or Philippine CPA is nice to have
• Xero Advisor certification is nice to have
• AI tools, ERP/Zedonk, A2X or similar connector, retail/ecommerce/fashion, multi-currency, and marketplace reconciliation experience are nice to have
