Java Backend Developer – Spring Boot, Camunda

• Work on customer projects for large enterprises and public-sector clients, embedded within their teams
• Take full ownership of your area of responsibility
• Design, develop, and test Java microservices
• Develop synchronous and asynchronous REST and SOAP APIs using OpenAPI 3
• Automate processes with Camunda BPM
• Automate testing with JUnit 5 and Cucumber
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot your own services
• Help shape the architecture
• Generate, review, and refactor code using Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders across team boundaries
• Support the services you develop in production, including participation in a shared scheduled on-call rotation

• Senior-level experience; able to deliver from day one and work independently
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Hibernate/JPA
• Experience designing, developing, and testing microservices
• Experience with REST and SOAP web services, JSON/XML over HTTP, and OpenAPI 3
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Oracle
• Experience with JUnit 5 and Cucumber
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD using GitLab Pipelines and Maven
• Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and agile ways of working
• Hands-on project experience with Camunda BPM
• Experience with OAuth 2.0 and Keycloak for authentication and authorization
• Apache Kafka and asynchronous communication are a plus
• XML, XSD, and XSLT are a plus
• Experience working on complex projects involving multiple teams is a plus
• Experience with legacy J2EE systems and migrating them to Spring Boot is a plus
• German at native or C1/C2 level
• Fluent English
• Ability to coordinate daily with business departments and cross-functional stakeholders
• Productive use of Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor is required
• Willingness to participate in a scheduled on-call rotation
