Head of Engineering

• Work on edge cloud computing to solve difficult, manual, and repeatable tasks for users adopting cloud technologies
• Build SaaS applications using multitenancy, scalability, and large data volumes/Big Data
• Develop and expand the portfolio supporting 200+ cloud applications
• Learn and contribute to designing, developing, and launching products from concept through high customer use
• Oversee and manage all aspects of the engineering department
• Work directly with development, support, implementation, internal teams, external vendors, and clients
• Work directly with the CEO/CTO as a technology and business expert
• Manage multiple engineering projects and ensure delivery on time and within budget
• Lead engineers and provide guidance on technical issues
• Collaborate with product, design, and customer support teams
• Ensure coding standards, best practices, and security protocols
• Hire, train, mentor, and manage engineers and support staff
• Evaluate and recommend technologies and methodologies
• Build and maintain vendor and partner relationships
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle for developers and testers in an agile environment
• Lead staff in efficient client implementations and ensure secure, defect-free technical deliverables
• Define career paths, training, performance appraisals, corrective action, and pay reviews
• Develop department standards and procedures
• Recommend implementation practices for upgraded products
• Evaluate and report progress and results

• Hands-on experience in Java
• Experience with Bootstrap and jQuery
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
• Experience with modular software development
• Experience with multi-tenant architecture and highly scalable systems
• Minimum of 8–10 years of experience demonstrating required engineering skills and competencies
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on full-stack architecture experience
• In-depth knowledge of Docker containers, Kubernetes cluster management and orchestration, microservice architectures, DevOps practices and tooling
• Previous leadership or management experience
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to determine implementation approaches and methodologies based on guidelines and best practices
• Ability to learn new technology quickly
• Must have successfully delivered at least two projects end-to-end
• Must work U.K. shift: 1:30 PM IST–10:30 PM IST
