Medical Science Liaison, Rare Disease

• Act as a scientific expert for assigned products, therapeutic areas and clinical development
• Gather and communicate medical insights from the field to support medical strategy and address unmet patient needs
• Build and maintain scientific relationships with key healthcare professionals and specialized centers across Austria
• Plan and deliver Advisory Boards, workshops, congresses and medical education
• Support clinical studies, investigator-initiated research and local evidence-generation projects in line with medical and compliance requirements
• Contribute to local medical plans and field-based medical activities
• Develop scientific materials and provide medical training across the organization
• Ensure medical review and compliance of promotional and scientific materials
• Identify patient-journey barriers and contribute to initiatives improving diagnosis, referral pathways and patient care
• Collaborate with Marketing, Field Force and other stakeholders
• Contribute to medical planning, budget management and external scientific collaborations

• Completed medical or relevant natural science degree (pharmacy, biology, veterinary medicine, etc.)
• Pharmaceutical representative certification if not covered by academic degree
• Several years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a comparable medical field-based role
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to build trusted relationships internally and externally
• Collaborative cross-functional working style
• Passion for field-based medical work and scientific exchange with healthcare professionals
• Willingness to spend approximately 60–75% of working time in the field across Austria
• Experience collaborating with key opinion leaders and presenting medical-scientific content
• Very good German and English skills
• Driving license B
• Willingness to travel, including occasional international travel
