Technical Recruiter, Engineering

• Find top engineers in Uruguay through personal networks, leading universities, computer science and engineering departments, and local engineering communities
• Write personal, specific outreach to prospective engineering candidates
• Calibrate hiring criteria with the team using resumes of strong Uruguayan engineers already hired
• Conduct the first screen with every candidate and advance the strongest candidates to engineering screens and the standard interview process
• Build and maintain a talent map of Uruguay's strongest engineers, including educational programs, classes and current employers
• Move candidates through the Ashby process and report weekly funnel metrics, including outreach, replies, screens, pass-through rates and hires
• Use AI tools for sourcing, research and outreach, and turn effective methods into repeatable workflows
• Improve the engineering candidate experience across job posts, interviews and offers
• Share insights about the Uruguayan engineering market, including pay expectations, competing offers and effective channels
• Report directly to the Chief of Staff

• 2+ years of technical recruiting or sourcing in Uruguay's tech industry, in-house or at an agency
• Strong network in Uruguay's engineering community, including universities, computer science and engineering faculties, student groups and alumni
• Strong sourcing skills, including finding engineers who are not on job boards and eliciting replies
• Technical literacy sufficient to read GitHub profiles, ask screening questions and distinguish strong engineers from keyword matches
• Knowledge of AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Experience with an applicant tracking system such as Ashby, Greenhouse or Lever
• Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter
• Heavy daily use of AI tools in recruiting work
• High agency and ownership; ability to run an independent pipeline
• Based in Uruguay and able to work mostly US East Coast hours
