System Engineer, DNS, IoT

• Implement and operate physical, virtualized and containerized system environments, focusing on integrating a new IoT resolving platform in Kubernetes
• Analyze, troubleshoot and document system malfunctions
• Regularly check and refine automated processes and strategies such as failover, deployment and disaster recovery
• Ensure highly available and resilient systems with minimum recovery time
• Identify, document and structure new test use cases
• Develop and optimize scripts using Ansible, Bash, Perl and Python
• Implement changes in test, reference and production systems to improve stability and provide new features
• Develop new methods and tools for data analysis and monitoring
• Cooperate with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end system functionality
• Collaborate with the German operations team to streamline processes, improve software, tools and system performance, and apply innovative technologies and concepts
• Work closely with suppliers and DevOps engineers to design, integrate, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot resolving DNS platforms

• Fundamental knowledge of DNS (PowerDNS, DoH/DoT/DoQ), preferably from working in a TelCo company
• Extensive know-how in Kubernetes to orchestrate CNFs
• Proficiency in using and adapting configurations for Kubernetes
• Experience with IP networks, router and LAN/WAN technologies
• Experience troubleshooting networks with tracing tools such as Wireshark
• Hands-on experience with monitoring systems and data analytics (Prometheus, Medusa, …)
• Very good analytical skills combined with strong quality awareness
• Experience in classic and agile forms of cooperation
• Willingness to be on call for around 8 weeks per year and rarely perform tasks outside regular working hours
