Lead Software Engineer

• Set the technical direction of Alti, Alternative Payments' AI agent product
• Own technical direction for conversational AI, agents, and automated routines
• Define standards for LLM evaluation, prompt management, monitoring, and observability
• Lead the design of RAG pipelines and agent architectures and make trade-off decisions
• Drive the transition from LLM-only features to proprietary ML models
• Take ML models to production with monitoring and continuous feedback
• Identify ML use cases across the accounts payable platform and shape them with Product
• Serve as an AI reference across the product organization by reviewing designs, pairing with engineers, and sharing practices
• Write code hands-on every week

• Strong experience as a software engineer, with a track record of owning technical decisions on product features end to end
• Hands-on work on AI products in the last 12 months, including LLMs, agents, or AI features, with ownership of meaningful parts of the system
• Experience with chatbots/conversational AI, RAG, and LLM evaluation pipelines
• Strong skills in at least one of Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Python
• Autonomy to define a process in a new area, not only execute one
• Product mindset focused on what gets delivered to users
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment with ownership of many parts of the delivery chain
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Experience putting ML models into production with monitoring and feedback loops
• Experience with AI monitoring and observability tooling
• Prompt engineering experience
• Experience with autonomous or personal agents working across Slack, Teams, or WhatsApp
• Background in fintech, payments, or financial products
• Experience at both an early-stage startup (Seed to Series B) and a larger tech company
