Head of Engineering

• Provide technical leadership to engineers across Product Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Corporate Engineering, fostering technical excellence and people development
• Define, evolve, and ensure adherence to ROIT’s engineering standards, covering architecture, security, scalability, maintainability, observability, and system support
• Serve as a technical reference for architecture and engineering decisions, promoting best practices and consistency across teams
• Provide technical mentorship, conduct code reviews, deliver feedback, and contribute to defining seniority criteria, levels, and career progression for engineers
• Ensure knowledge redundancy for critical systems, reducing the risks associated with dependency on key individuals
• Lead the recruitment and selection process for Engineering professionals, participating in technical interviews and practical assessments
• Direct the evolution of the Internal Platform as a Service, including identity and access management, multi-tenant architecture, deployment pipelines, Harness tools, and shared components
• Work closely with the Security team to define risk criteria and determine when internal solutions require Engineering review
• Take a hands-on role in new strategic initiatives, validating architecture, technology, and technical feasibility before the teams responsible for execution are formed
• Serve as the liaison between Engineering and Business Unit owners, contributing to the negotiation of priorities, scope, capacity, and timelines
• Lead and accelerate the adoption of Artificial Intelligence throughout the software development lifecycle, promoting the effective use of tools and new ways of working
• Identify opportunities to improve the Engineering organization and propose solutions that increase productivity, quality, and delivery speed

• Proven experience taking technical ownership of a complete product, platform, or value stream
• Strong experience in technical leadership, including mentoring, code reviews, standards definition, and technical direction for other engineers
• Solid knowledge of distributed cloud systems, multi-tenant architecture, APIs, CI/CD, and application security
• Practical experience with software architecture and development, while maintaining the ability to work hands-on
• Consistent use of Artificial Intelligence tools in software development, incorporating AI into the workflow
• Ability to operate in highly autonomous, ambiguous environments by structuring problems, defining scope, and making decisions
• Systems-level thinking with the ability to balance technical quality, delivery speed, risks, and business needs
• Clear, concise, and assertive communication skills for working with technical teams, leadership, and business stakeholders
• Experience with tax, fiscal, or financial systems in Brazil is a plus
• Experience at SaaS companies with multiple products built on a common platform is a plus
• Knowledge of or practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus
• Experience with Go, Node.js, or Python is a plus
• Experience building or evolving internal engineering platforms is a plus
• Experience in fast-growth environments, technology transformation, or building products from the ground up is a plus
