Senior Software Engineer

• Learn and become a core owner of Wagmo’s claims automation pipeline
• Review and ship production changes independently within the first few months
• Reduce the cost of processing each claim by routing work to appropriate models while maintaining accuracy
• Restructure the pipeline so stages can be changed, tested, and rolled out independently
• Establish evaluations to gate pipeline changes
• Ship automation that resolves more claims without manual review
• Partner with Product to determine future automation priorities
• Use AI to read veterinary records and improve coverage decisions for additional claim types
• Own work from design through production

• Must be based in Latin America
• Must work at least 6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time
• Shipped an LLM-powered feature to production that real users or real money depend on
• Set up evaluations before rollout, versioned prompts and models, and planned for rollback
• Designed or substantially refactored a business-critical system such as payments or claims without breaking it
• Experience taking over and owning a complex system built by someone else
• Experience making tradeoffs between model cost and quality, with measurable proof that quality held
• Daily use of coding agents and AI review tools
• Strong Python skills
• Experience with Django and TypeScript is a plus
