Senior Server Tech Services Engineer

• Report to and work closely with the cSTS team lead during critical maintenance projects
• Collaborate with Network Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering teams to assess issues and initiate swift workflows
• Diagnose high-level hardware and network issues across global infrastructure
• Facilitate server repairs with ISP and Field Engineers
• Coordinate the return of Akamai equipment to warehouses or vendors
• Monitor hardware failure patterns and proactively report trends to Hardware Engineering and vendors
• Lead complex technical escalations
• Mentor junior engineers
• Drive operational excellence

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience diagnosing faults in network and server hardware technologies, including drives, RAM, motherboards, and RAID
• Expert knowledge of Layer 1 and Layer 2 troubleshooting
• Expert knowledge of the OSI Model
• Expert knowledge of Unix/Linux CLI
• Experience with data center technologies and infrastructure environment management
• Solid analytical skills for systematically gathering information and resolving complex technical issues
• Ability to maintain working relationships with internal teams, third-party service providers, and external vendors
