Magento Tech Lead – Architect

• Lead the backend team through mentoring, code reviews, developer autonomy development, and constructive feedback
• Own the technical architecture of projects, including applications, integrations, and data flows, considering performance, scalability, security, and implementation and maintenance costs
• Analyze business requirements and lead technical workshops with clients
• Identify constraints and risks and propose alternative solutions aligned with business goals
• Estimate complex Magento 2 solutions and participate in deployment and migration planning
• Lead technical delivery from analysis through production launch, ensuring solution quality, performance, and security
• Develop core e-commerce logic, dedicated applications, microservices, and advanced modules for promotions, pricing engines, checkout, orders, and catalog
• Design performant REST and GraphQL APIs and integrations with ERP, PIM, WMS, OMS, and payment systems
• Coordinate interfaces and data exchange rules with external vendors
• Oversee coding standards and best practices, including SOLID, unit and integration tests, and security
• Compare solution variants, justify technical decisions, and create architecture and key-flow documentation
• Communicate adopted solutions clearly to the team and non-technical client stakeholders
• Participate in technical candidate assessment and onboarding new developers

• Experience leading a development team or working as a Tech Lead / Architect
• Practical experience designing and implementing complex Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce e-commerce solutions covering applications, integrations, and data
• Documented experience with high-traffic e-commerce projects or complex integration architectures
• Experience discussing requirements and technical solutions with clients, presenting recommendations, and explaining architectural decisions to non-technical stakeholders
• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience developing Magento 2 projects and writing clean PHP 8 code
• Very good knowledge of Magento 2 architecture, including dependency injection, plugins, observers, service contracts, EAV, indexers, cron, and message queues
• 4+ years of experience with MySQL and Elasticsearch / OpenSearch
• Extensive experience integrating external systems such as ERP, PIM, WMS, OMS, and payment systems using REST API and GraphQL
• Knowledge of Headless architecture and basic Hyvä experience, particularly modifying checkout and cart
• Practical knowledge of queues and asynchronous communication, including RabbitMQ
• Ability to independently diagnose applications; knowledge of profilers, monitoring tools, log analysis tools, and caching mechanisms
• Production experience with Varnish, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, MySQL query optimization, and APM tools
• In-depth knowledge of SOLID principles and experience writing PHPUnit unit and integration tests
• Experience conducting substantive code reviews
• Knowledge of web application security principles, OWASP Top 10, GDPR, and PCI DSS requirements
• Comfortable working with Git, including rebasing and conflict resolution
• Knowledge of Docker containerization, including DDEV and Warden
• Basic Linux administration knowledge
• English proficiency sufficient for documentation and technical communication
• Preferred: Adobe Commerce certifications; Adobe Commerce Cloud and B2B modules; Hyvä Themes or headless frontend; Magento 1 to Magento 2 migrations or major upgrades; AWS or other cloud platforms and IaC tools
