Technical Writer – Freelance

• Write and maintain content directly in a docs-as-code workflow using Git and Markdown/MDX
• Migrate existing help centre articles into version-controlled repositories with peer review
• Independently create clear, accurate content for moderately complex features, including user guides, help centre articles, and UI copy
• Responsibly use approved AI tools to improve workflow efficiency while ensuring final content is high-quality, accurate, and human
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Implementation teams
• Gather requirements, manage project expectations, and ensure content accuracy
• Use Zendesk, CMS, and docs-as-code tools effectively
• Suggest improvements to content processes and streamline team workflows
• Manage content assets from creation to publication
• Track and report content performance using established dashboards

• Typically 3 or more years of experience in technical writing
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
• Comfortable working in Git and Markdown or MDX
• Previous experience with a docs-as-code workflow
• Strong self-editing and peer-review skills
• Ability to independently learn and explain moderately complex technical concepts
• Ability to apply established accessibility and global localisation best practices
• Ability to quickly adapt to new tools or processes
• Proactive and reliable team contributor
• Passion for creating impactful documentation and core technical writing skills
