Part-Time Medical Biller
Sobre el puesto
• Manage the full medical billing cycle for a behavioral health/group therapy practice
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
• Assist with and follow up on prior authorization requirements and requests
• Prepare and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
• Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or delayed claims
• Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and billing issues
• Prepare and submit appeals when appropriate
• Process and review ERAs (Electronic Remittance Advices)
• Track patient and insurance payments and ensure accurate posting
• Perform regular billing and payment reconciliations
• Identify outstanding balances and follow up as needed
• Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
• Communicate with practice staff regarding billing concerns, claim issues, and outstanding items
• Help ensure billing workflows remain accurate, organized, and up to date
• Strong U.S. medical billing experience is required
• Experience billing for behavioral health, mental health, therapy, or similar healthcare practices is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end medical billing process
• Experience with insurance verification, claims submission, denials, appeals, payment posting, ERAs, and reconciliations
• Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare insurance and billing processes
• Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage billing tasks with minimal supervision
• Reliable availability during Central Time business hours
• Part-time schedule of approximately 20 hours per week
• Flexible schedule ideally aligned with 9:00 AM–1:00 PM or 9:00 AM–2:00 PM Central Time
• Remote work arrangement
• Expected part-time commitment for at least one year
