Head of DevOps

• Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of DevOps engineers
• Oversee environment versioning, configuration management, and infrastructure automation
• Transform text-based configuration into a generator-based process supporting multiple servers and development expansions
• Drive DevOps knowledge collection and team training
• Manage recruitment, training, task allocation, and delivery supervision
• Drive adoption of DevOps best practices, including monitoring, incident response, and security hardening
• Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve reliability, scalability, and delivery speed
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, and client delivery teams
• Shape DevOps culture and manage allocation of DevOps resources

• 7+ years of DevOps/SRE experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity
• Experience working with multiple external customers
• Strong knowledge of version control systems: Git and SVN
• Strong background in Linux systems administration (preferably RedHat 8)
• Experience with Database applicative versioning
• Experience with large, non-cloud-based systems
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• Experience managing production systems in a mission-critical environment
• Preferred: experience in the financial industry, especially low-latency trading systems
• Preferred: familiarity with RPM packaging and software delivery processes
• Preferred: hands-on experience with MariaDB/MySQL, including DBA-level management and tuning
• Preferred: experience with messaging systems (e.g., Solace), Solarflare network cards, and BigData tooling
• Preferred: background in optimizing C++ applications on Linux
• Preferred: knowledge of security best practices on-prem environments
• Preferred: proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.)
• Preferred: expertise in automation tools (Ansible preferred) and infrastructure scripting
• Preferred: experience writing internal technical documentation and release notes
• Preferred: deep understanding of container technologies, especially Docker
