Operational Lab Manager – Oil, Gas & Chemicals

• Strategic and operational overall responsibility for the OGC laboratory sites in Hamburg, Wilhelmshaven, and Speyer
• Leadership, development, and management of the laboratory management and order processing teams
• Disciplinary and functional leadership of 7 direct reports, with overall responsibility for an organization of 47 FTEs
• Ensuring an economically viable, efficient, and high-quality laboratory organization
• Responsibility for resources, KPIs, and budgets, as well as the continuous optimization of laboratory processes
• Managing external service providers and ensuring reliable order processing
• Close collaboration with internal and international stakeholders to implement the business strategy and further develop the OGC business

• Completed degree in chemistry or a comparable natural science discipline
• Several years of leadership experience in an operational management role, ideally in a laboratory, chemical, or analytical environment
• Proven experience leading larger organizational units with multiple management levels and cross-site teams
• In-depth industry knowledge of the Oil, Gas & Chemicals sector
• Strong business acumen and experience managing complex operational units
• Proven success in leading, motivating, and developing employees and managers
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with internal and external stakeholders
• Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
• High willingness to travel within Germany (approximately 25%)
