Data Analyst, SQL, Power BI

• Provide data in response to one-time or recurring report or analysis requests
• Understand customer objectives and processes, refine requirements, and communicate estimated hours and timelines
• Extract and manipulate data using Cognos ReportNet, OBIEE Answers, similar query interfaces, SQL, relational databases, data warehouses, and other data stores
• Format data for business use in Excel, Access, or similar formats
• Produce reports manually and through automated scripting
• Create and maintain scripts and macros for report automation
• Support application testing for enhancements and system upgrades
• Identify and communicate data quality issues or data differences
• Develop intuitive reports and document unique data aspects or limitations
• Develop in-depth knowledge of data for at least one line of business and support its data needs
• Communicate proactively with customers and team members
• Collaborate effectively with team members and deliver assigned work productively
• Provide customer service and accountability for commitments and hours spent
• Work in a climate-controlled office, with occasional travel by car or airplane

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of Farmers or other insurance claims experience preferred for internal candidates
• Technical experience involving querying and manipulating data to address business problems
• 2+ years of experience with data extraction, manipulation, and presentation in a usable format for external candidates
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency, including Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts, AutoFilter, and formulas
• Proficiency in BI query tools such as Cognos ReportNet, OBIEE Answers, BusinessObjects, or similar systems
• Proficiency with MS Access, including loading data, writing queries, and manipulating data
• Proficiency with basic SQL queries involving a few tables and limited criteria
• Ability to type proficiently
• Valid local legal authorization to work in the country where the role is based at the time of hire
• Ability to perform sedentary work with occasional walking, standing, and lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs
• Ability to see, hear, and speak
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or a related field preferred
