Legal & Compliance Counsel

• Provide day-to-day legal support
• Draft and review contracts and customer terms
• Advise leadership on legal and regulatory matters
• Protect company interests, reduce payment disputes, and support debt and property recovery
• Support new product launches and expansion into new markets while ensuring compliance with local requirements
• Lead debt recovery efforts, including demand letters, payment negotiations, and lawsuits against non-paying customers
• Handle litigation and commercial disputes
• Prepare court documents and represent the company where authorized or work with external counsel
• Pursue enforcement of judgments and settlements to recover outstanding debts and company property
• Communicate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities regarding suspected fraud, theft, or unreturned property
• Work with finance and operations to prioritize cases, organize evidence, and track legal costs and recovery results

• Proven experience in a senior legal role in startup or high-growth company with strong project management skills
• Strong ability to independently analyze legal matters, conduct thorough research on applicable laws, and deliver clear, practical advice — even in unfamiliar legal areas
• A proactive and resourceful mindset — not afraid to pick up the phone, chase down answers, push for clarity, or escalate when needed
• Excellent skills in locating, analyzing, and interpreting legal and regulatory materials through public databases and direct communication with regulatory bodies
