Software Engineer, Analytics Infrastructure

• Build data tools enabling data practitioners to efficiently explore and analyze data
• Shape the future of Apache Superset through open-source collaboration, internal user engagement, and direct code contributions
• Build integrations between data products and Airbnb’s data platform ecosystem, including metric infrastructure, data management platforms, and data warehouse infrastructure
• Maintain high stability, reliability, and technical quality for data tools
• Build features for Superset, AI for Data Chat, Notebooks, and Data Platform integrations
• Collaborate with the Apache Superset open-source community and contribute to the project
• Prepare, test, and release official Superset OSS releases internally for Airbnb
• Collaborate with data platform teams on integrations
• Engage with product users, gather feedback, manage feature rollouts and migrations, and drive projects end to end
• Improve testability and observability, review code and technical designs, and identify quality or architecture improvements
• Provide lightweight on-call support

• 5+ years of full-time, relevant industry experience
• Expertise in building backend services in Python
• Expertise with frontend development: HTML, CSS, Typescript, Javascript; modern front-end frameworks such as React are a plus
• Hands-on experience with data, SQL, data engineering, or big data technologies such as Airflow, Spark, or Trino is a plus
• Experience in internal application development, data infrastructure, and/or analytics engineering is a plus
• Appetite for high quality code and robust systems, including observability and reliability
• Ability to drive cross-functional projects or migrations, including alignment, collaboration, and rollout with partner teams and users
• Passion for building interactive user experiences and engaging with users
