Senior Backend Software Engineer

• Build and evolve the digital solutions for the Sabesp project at Bemobi Wave.
• Develop, test, instrument, document, and maintain backend microservices and APIs.
• Participate in architecture and system design decisions, evaluating alternatives and explaining trade-offs.
• Lead or support technical refinement and planning sessions, identifying dependencies, risks, and implementation paths.
• Help break initiatives into smaller deliverables and track their execution.
• Unblock technical decisions and align risks across the project’s different workstreams.
• Coordinate incident responses for live systems, bringing together the people involved and tracking actions through completion.
• Support the tech lead with ongoing technical coordination.
• Mentor junior professionals through collaboration, code reviews, and constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and client teams.
• Contribute to continuous delivery and infrastructure as code.
• Use generative AI tools, critically evaluating and validating their outputs.
• Work across delivery and live-system workstreams, including Totem, mobile applications, Virtual Agency Web, backend microservices, and conversational services powered by LLMs.

• Professional experience in backend development and evolving APIs or microservices.
• Experience with TypeScript and Node.js, or a proven ability to work independently with equivalent technologies and quickly adapt to the stack.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with GCP and Cloud Functions.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices and infrastructure as code.
• Ability to lead architecture and system design discussions, make technical decisions, and investigate issues independently.
• Experience with production systems, including coordinating incident responses and tracking corrective actions.
• Practical use of generative AI tools in engineering work, with the critical judgment to review, test, and validate their outputs.
• Clear communication, autonomy, and the ability to collaborate with people across different functions and levels of seniority.
• Familiarity with or interest in Azure.
• Experience developing solutions with LLMs or conversational agents.
• Experience with digital products across multiple channels, such as applications, web portals, and Totems.
• Knowledge of React Native, React, or Next.js to collaborate with other project workstreams.
• Experience with public services, utilities, or complex customer journeys.
