Lead Data Engineer

• Lead the design and implementation of data ingestion and transformation solutions using SQL and dbt
• Own end-to-end ELT pipelines using dbt and Athena
• Design and enforce data quality frameworks, including validation rules, testing strategies, and monitoring
• Apply Medallion Architecture best practices across data pipelines
• Develop and optimize Athena SQL queries and dbt models
• Develop and enhance data validation and ingestion frameworks, including Streamlit-based UI components when needed
• Guide best practices in SQL, dbt, data engineering, governance, and pipeline reliability
• Identify risks, bottlenecks, and data quality issues and implement mitigation strategies
• Drive documentation and continuous improvement of data platform processes
• Build reliable, scalable, and high-quality data pipelines supporting business and analytics workflows

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL (Must)
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Must)
• Strong experience building ELT pipelines and data transformation solutions
• Strong experience working with AWS Athena and writing complex SQL queries
• Solid understanding of data modeling and large-scale data processing
• Experience with AWS services and data platforms (Plus)
• Experience with Glue, S3, EMR, Lambda, Terraform, or CloudFormation (Plus)
• Client-facing leadership capabilities
• Excellent communication skills
