Operational Manager, Research and Operations

• Provide operational support across research studies and medical research projects
• Manage studies from development through completion according to contracts, budgets, timelines, quality expectations, SOPs, and regulations
• Identify opportunities for real-world data to address local evidence gaps
• Support evidence generation strategies and provide scientific input to local evidence initiatives
• Manage affiliate-administered research, including Investigator-Initiated Studies, non-interventional studies, collaborative research, research projects, and dataset purchases
• Manage assigned projects from planning through completion, including documentation, oversight, monitoring, budget management, and system updates
• Support contract negotiations, invoice management, vendor selection, and drug deliveries where applicable
• Provide guidance on the scientific publication process and publication plans
• Provide operational, scientific, and clinical research expertise and guidance
• Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, AbbVie standards, policies, and procedures
• Contribute to improved processes, new ways of working, and effective communication and collaboration across the Scandinavian affiliate and with external stakeholders
• Work closely with Study Leads, Medical Affairs, brand teams, affiliate researchers, healthcare professionals, vendors, and external partners
• Report to the Head of Affiliate Research, Scandinavia

• Scientific background with a relevant degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with scientific publications, drug development, clinical research, and registry studies
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position, as a medical advisor, in a market access role closely working with research, as a Senior CRA, or as a Startup Specialist
• Current and in-depth knowledge of regulations governing clinical research
• Strong knowledge of ICH/GCP guidelines and other applicable clinical research regulations
• Fluency in one Scandinavian language and English, both written and spoken
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional settings
• Clear, confident, and effective communication skills
• Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail
• Experience leading processes and applying change management skills to support new ways of working
• Flexible mindset, with the ability to manage ambiguity, think creatively, and develop practical solutions
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment
