Back-End Developer

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and services
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and web services
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable and well-documented code
• Design, develop and optimize databases and data-access layers
• Integrate backend systems with third-party APIs, applications and services
• Implement authentication, authorization and data-security controls
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve application and production issues
• Conduct unit, integration and performance testing
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards and best practices
• Collaborate with frontend developers on API and system integration
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments and production environments with DevOps teams
• Monitor application performance and identify optimization opportunities
• Contribute to system architecture, technical documentation and solution design
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and technical discussions
• Maintain version control and development workflows using Git
• Support continuous improvement of development processes, tools and technical standards

• Experience with one or more of: Java, C#, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, PHP
• RESTful API development
• Web services and API integrations
• Microservices architecture
• Authentication and authorization
• API security and performance optimization
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB or similar technologies
• Git and version control
• CI/CD pipelines
• Docker and containerization
• Kubernetes is advantageous
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
• Logging, monitoring and application performance management
• Bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
• 3+ years of professional backend development experience
• Strong experience developing backend applications and APIs
• Experience working with databases and data modelling
• Experience with software development methodologies and Agile environments
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle principles
• Experience with cloud technologies and containerization is advantageous
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Excellent programming and debugging skills
• Strong understanding of backend architecture and development principles
• Attention to detail and commitment to code quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
