Senior System Engineer – Platform & Security

• Own and operate the Linux server landscape across the on-premise Proxmox/ZFS cluster and AWS
• Run and harden networks and security, including firewalls, VPNs, access control, certificates, hardening, and the network link to the largest partner
• Automate infrastructure with Ansible and keep it versioned, reproducible, and documented
• Maintain the Docker, Nomad, and Traefik container platform
• Maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines so teams can ship quickly and safely
• Administer MySQL in production, including backups, performance, and recovery
• Extend monitoring, logging, and alerting with Grafana and New Relic
• Drive incidents to root cause
• Act as a sparring partner for Engineering, Data, and Product
• Explain infrastructure design decisions and help grow a colleague

• Several years running Linux server environments, particularly Debian/Ubuntu
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, routing, DNS, load balancing, firewall and VPN administration
• Proven infrastructure security practice: hardening, access control, and security best practices
• Production experience with Ansible
• Experience with container orchestration such as Nomad, Kubernetes, or similar
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with AWS or a comparable public cloud
• Production MySQL administration experience
• Bash and Python for tooling
• Monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting expertise
• Fluent English
• German is a plus, not a requirement
• Terraform, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Zero Trust concepts are pluses
