Staff Engineer

• Set the technical direction and target architecture for the Marketplace across search, listings, doctors' profiles and booking
• Shape the monolith-to-monorepo migration, including domain sequencing, strangler routing, anti-corruption layers, shadow traffic and staged source-of-truth flips
• Move domains from thin monolith proxies to natively owned monorepo data, business logic and persistence
• Make Marketplace capabilities reusable and consumable through clear contracts across the Docplanner portfolio
• Ship production changes by directing AI coding agents and prototyping risky migration or integration work
• Drive AI-assisted workflows for legacy-code understanding, contracts, adapters, tests and parity
• Help make Marketplace capabilities usable by AI agents
• Partner with Engineering Managers and Product Managers on planning and cross-team work
• Mentor senior engineers on architecture, system design and pragmatic decision-making
• Contribute to Docplanner's Staff+ community of practice and technical standards
• Deliver a written technical direction, versioned production contracts, measurable monolith reduction and adopted AI-assisted workflows

• Led technical direction across several teams
• Experience taking apart a large legacy system while it continued serving real traffic
• Experience with the strangler pattern, anti-corruption layers, data migration and dual-write pitfalls
• Strong distributed systems and backend architecture skills
• Comfortable in a polyglot environment
• Solid hands-on experience using AI to accelerate software development
• Experience directing AI coding agents while maintaining design, correctness and security
• Enjoys mentoring and raising engineers' technical standards
• Fluent English
