Freelance Business Analyst, Data

• Join the delivery squad building a Loyalty Revenue Accounting solution on Databricks
• Define and document data requirements for a data platform solution with Finance, Loyalty and architecture stakeholders
• Define precise, testable business logic, including calculations, allocations and transaction treatment rules
• Produce source-to-target mapping specifications covering field-level mappings, transformations and reference data
• Write requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira for engineers and testers
• Maintain traceability from business needs through requirements, mappings and design
• Keep documentation current as requirements change
• Identify gaps, edge cases and anomalies, raising options and impacts
• Work with the product manager, data engineers, architects and QE throughout delivery
• Answer questions and validate delivered work against requirements
• Support walkthroughs and sign-off with Finance and other business stakeholders

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst on data-focused projects, such as data platforms, data warehouses or data migration
• Experience defining both business logic and data mapping logic
• Strong written requirements skills, including writing and managing requirements in Jira
• Ability to read and reason about data structures, tables and fields
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Strong communication skills, able to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in an agile delivery team where requirements iterate
• Experience with Databricks or a similar cloud data platform (nice to have)
• Experience in finance, revenue accounting or accounting journals (nice to have)
• Experience with loyalty, airline or travel data (nice to have)
• Familiarity with event-driven or streaming data sources (nice to have)
