Senior Data Engineer

• Build and own dbt staging, intermediate, core, and mart models from ticket to production
• Translate business rules into documented and testable logic for survivorship, location attribution, consent history, membership lifecycle, and mart metrics
• Work with marketing, operations, and finance subject matter experts to confirm definitions and obtain sign-off before model promotion
• Write tests and model contracts for every model
• Add source freshness and soft-delete handling for CDC-landed tables
• Set up and maintain dbt Cloud Production and CI environments
• Keep the main branch compiling and deployable
• Review pull requests from other engineers and receive review from the lead architect
• Reconcile model output against source systems and document gaps and causes
• Document every built attribute and contribute to handoff runbooks and wiki pages
• Work alongside the lead data architect and own a defined set of models end to end

• 5+ years in data or analytics engineering
• At least 3 years building production dbt projects on Snowflake
• Strong dbt skills, including layered modeling, incremental models, snapshots and SCD Type 2, macros and Jinja, dbt_utils, model contracts, exposures, and documentation
• In-depth dbt testing knowledge, including generic and singular tests, source freshness, severity and failure handling, and CI using isolated per-PR schemas
• Snowflake expertise beyond querying, including roles and grants, warehouses and cost controls, UDFs, Secure Views, masking policies, and tags
• Customer identity resolution or entity matching experience, including deterministic match tiers, survivorship rules, and stable customer keys across source systems
• Expert SQL, including window functions and semi-structured data
• Experience handling PII and consent data with an append-only, auditable design
• Git-based workflow experience with pull requests, code review, and protected branches
• Clear written English and a habit of documenting decisions
• Experience with dbt Cloud administration, CDC tools, CRM, analytics, appointment or POS systems, franchise reporting, Power BI marts, consent and deletion workflows, Terraform, or Snowflake schema changes is nice to have
