Senior Automation Engineer

• Develop and execute an API automation strategy aligned with organizational quality goals
• Identify and introduce testing approaches, tools, and technologies to improve QA efficiency and effectiveness
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable API automation frameworks using Java, RestAssured or Karate, and BDD principles
• Write automation scripts validating API functionality, performance, and security
• Implement data-driven testing and reusable automation frameworks
• Integrate automation suites into Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI pipelines
• Perform API testing and exploration using Postman, Swagger, Hoppscotch, or ReadyAPI
• Apply API security testing principles and validate data quality, including large datasets
• Use AI models and configure AI agents for test design, execution, and analysis
• Create, organize, and maintain test cases, catalogs, and test sets in Xray
• Integrate Xray with Jira for traceability and report test execution and results
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, architects, stakeholders, and integration partners to ensure testability
• Participate in design, architecture, and Agile ceremony discussions and identify quality risks
• Communicate test results and quality metrics
• Establish QA guidelines, review code, enforce secure coding, and maintain at least 70% code coverage
• Write and maintain unit tests with JUnit or TestNG
• Complete coding tasks under the guidance of a Technical Architect and contribute to system design
• Test Spring Boot and Spring Cloud microservices, REST APIs, and dependency-injection components on GCP using Docker and Kubernetes
• Validate relational and NoSQL data
• Troubleshoot operational issues and use monitoring/logging tools to diagnose problems
• Optionally implement contract testing, performance testing, and eCommerce-focused scenarios

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 8–12 years of experience in software development and quality assurance, with a strong focus on API automation
• Experience working in Agile teams and participating in sprint ceremonies
• Extensive hands-on experience with RestAssured for API testing
• Proficiency in BDD frameworks such as Cucumber/Gherkin
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, Hoppscotch, or ReadyAPI
• Knowledge of API security testing principles and tools, such as OWASP
• Experience designing data-driven tests and building reusable automation frameworks
• Familiarity with AI models and their strengths; experience using AI models for test cases and scenarios
• Experience setting up AI agents for test automation
• Strong proficiency in Java and related open-source technologies
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud for microservices
• Working knowledge of dependency injection, RESTful APIs, and core Spring concepts
• Understanding of cloud-native technologies and architectures
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions
• Experience with JUnit and TestNG
• Proficiency with Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
• Strong working knowledge of Jira and Xray
• Experience creating Xray test cases, catalogs, and test sets and integrating Xray with Jira
• Experience using Git, Confluence/SharePoint, and Jira for documentation, scripts, results, and configuration
• Basic knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra
• Experience with data quality testing and large datasets
• Proficiency with Git and experience with GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab
• Ability to follow secure coding practices and maintain at least 70% code coverage
• Experience reviewing code and maintaining test plans, procedures, and scripts
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to handle operational issues with minimal oversight
• Nice to have: Pact, JMeter, Gatling, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and eCommerce domain knowledge
