Product Engineering Lead – QVAC

• Lead the teams building QV.AC features and app experience on top of the local AI stack
• Report directly to the CTO and take direction from product
• Run app and feature teams day to day by unblocking work, reviewing work, and keeping teams shipping
• Set and maintain a high engineering bar for performance, reliability, and clean APIs
• Own technical design of features and the API surface between the AI core and app
• Coordinate closely with AI research and deep tech teams on code reviews, design, models, and inference
• Partner with product managers to turn vision and roadmap into scoped, buildable work
• Challenge unrealistic scope and propose better implementation paths
• Bring engineering perspective to product decisions involving local model capabilities
• Use AI tools and rapid prototypes to validate ideas
• Create clarity around team goals and success criteria
• Mentor team leads and improve team operating systems and cross-team collaboration
• Lead by example while enabling teams to take ownership

• Experience managing engineers or engineering leads who ship consumer products, ideally AI-powered apps
• Strong product sense
• Intuition for applied AI and on-device constraints, including model size, latency, memory, and battery
• Ability to distinguish reliable features from demos
• Heavy use of AI tools and enthusiasm for experimenting with new models and capabilities
• Deep JavaScript and React expertise
• Initiative, curiosity, resilience, and ability to give and receive direct critique
• Preferred: experience with local or on-device inference, LLM evals, cross-platform mobile and desktop apps, or open source
• Excellent English communication skills
