SDE III – Backend

• Work as part of the Digitization and Automation team
• Design, develop, and implement intelligent, technology-enabled solutions for a variety of business problems
• Lead incident root-cause analyses
• Write design documents and architecture maps
• Mentor engineers through code review and pairing
• Own systems after launch, including on-call responsibilities, runbooks, and costs
• Use AI coding assistants daily while reviewing, testing, and taking ownership of generated code
• Design and build applications and systems from wireframes and product requirements
• Identify and fix bottlenecks and bugs
• Design and develop logical and physical data models
• Build for scalability, performance, service robustness, and cost trade-offs
• Create prototypes and proofs of concept
• Own projects and their full development cycle end to end

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in Java and Python
• Hands-on expertise with frameworks such as Spring Boot and Django/FastAPI
• Expertise in AWS, including Lambda, SQS, S3, EC2 (Linux-based VMs), Load Balancer, and RDS
• Expertise in SQL, including query plans, indexing, locking, primary–replica architecture, and schema changes on live tables
• Prior experience working with Redis
• Experience with microservices and distributed, event-driven system design, including webhooks, queues, and third-party API integrations
• Observability experience with Grafana and Prometheus/Loki, or an equivalent stack
• Experience running Docker in production, including images, Compose, and runtime configs
• Working experience with message brokers and event-streaming systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor
• Ability to lead incident RCAs
• Ability to write design docs and architecture maps
• Experience mentoring engineers through code review and pairing
• Experience owning systems after launch, including on-call, runbooks, and cost
• Judgement to review, test, and take ownership of AI-generated code
• Ability to design and build applications and systems from wireframes and product requirements documents
• Ability to identify and fix bottlenecks and bugs according to operational requirements
• Ability to design and develop logical and physical data models
• Ability to build for scalability, performance, service robustness, and cost trade-offs
• Ability to create prototypes and proofs of concept
• Ability to take complete, end-to-end ownership of projects and their development cycle
