Software Developer – E-Commerce Systems

• Work alongside the lead developer on the Django backend, React storefront on Cloudflare Workers, and data pipelines
• Solve concrete business problems involving vendor feeds, pricing rules, and manual spreadsheet processes
• Build and improve product data systems, including vendor imports and feeds, the in-house PIM, categorization, images, and catalog data quality
• Develop inventory and pricing systems using AWS Lambda, S3, SFTP, vendor scrapers, pricing rules, deals, and cart logic
• Build and test storefront API endpoints for the Django backend and React Router storefront replacing Shopify
• Develop Elasticsearch-backed search, facets, and recommendations
• Replace repetitive manual work in merchandising, customer service, and operations with scripts, admin screens, or LLM-based workflows
• Help migrate hand-built AWS and Cloudflare resources to OpenTofu
• Write tests first, with test-generated data and exact-value assertions
• Review AI-generated code and own every line that ships
• Produce small, focused pull requests with one fix per commit
• Coordinate production migrations, data fixes, and infrastructure changes before execution

• Strong Python
• Django (ORM, migrations, admin) experience is a big plus
• Solid SQL and PostgreSQL
• Comfortable reading query plans and pushing work into the database when it makes sense
• Experience building and consuming APIs
• Experience working with messy real-world data: CSV/Excel imports, vendor feeds, scraping, ETL
• Enough TypeScript/React to work on the storefront when a feature spans both repos
• Good judgment about when automation (including LLMs) helps and when a plain script or a better process is the right answer
• Clear written communication; ability to write actionable PR descriptions, documentation, and tickets
• E-commerce experience, especially catalog, PIM, order management or checkout (Stripe), is nice to have
• Elasticsearch or another major search platform is nice to have
• AWS (Lambda, S3, ECS), Cloudflare Workers, and OpenTofu/Terraform experience is nice to have
• Experience in furniture, home furnishings or another product-heavy retail business is nice to have
