Freelance Full-Time English into Simplified Chinese, CTD Module Language Lead

• Translate and proofread Life Science documents from English into Simplified Chinese (China)
• Serve as a client-facing linguistic point of contact for TransPerfect
• Review and investigate client complaints and quality-related issues
• Determine root causes and provide documented responses and corrective actions
• Maintain language quality standards across projects and accounts
• Manage translation memories, glossaries, and style guides
• Work with Project Managers on requirements, scope, timelines, and client expectations
• Gather and relay client feedback for current and future work
• Coordinate and guide a group of linguists, including assigning work and providing feedback
• Ensure adherence to client requirements and quality standards

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Simplified Chinese (China)
• Expertise in CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, and/or CTD Clinical fields
• Strong attention to detail, including spelling and grammar accuracy
• Ability to maintain professionalism and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
• Strong client communication skills and ability to handle complaints and feedback diplomatically
• Ability to manage, mentor, and give clear feedback to other linguists
• Strong organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Meet at least one qualification pathway: degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or equivalent translation-trained program; 2 years of professional translation experience plus a college degree; 5 years of professional translation experience without a college degree; or a translation competence certificate issued by an appropriate government authority

• Preferred: academic background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field
• Preferred: experience translating regulatory/pharmaceutical documents
• Preferred: familiarity with CTD structure, terminology, and CMC technical content
• Preferred: prior lead, reviewer, or quality management experience, including client feedback or complaints
• Preferred: experience with translation memories, termbases, style guides, and CAT tools
