• Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
• Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
• Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
• Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs
• Create pre-call plan objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
• Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns and secure calls to action on sales calls
• Serve customer needs and build trusted customer relationships
• Develop and execute call plans that optimize coverage and frequency for key customers
• Build knowledge of customer needs, territory markets, competitors, market segments, accounts, diseases, products, clinical information, and sales practices
• Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams
• Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers
• Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates
• Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations

• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, plus a high school diploma/GED required
• Proven track record of leadership success

• Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach
• Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
• Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
• In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge preferred
• English language proficiency preferred for non-English-speaking countries
• Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain them
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screens, fingerprinting, and provide immunization/vaccination proof where required
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
• Ability to drive a personal auto, company car/truck, or powered material-handling equipment
