Bookkeeper

• Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of Australian SME clients
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger integrity and prepare journal entries
• Prepare BAS and IAS working papers for accountant review and lodgement
• Process payroll, superannuation, PAYG withholding, and leave reconciliations
• Review and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with Australian accounting standards
• Assist with month-end and year-end bookkeeping processes, including workpaper preparation
• Prepare management reports and financial reports for clients and accountants
• Liaise directly with clients to request information, resolve bookkeeping queries, and provide bookkeeping support
• Work closely with accountants to ensure client files are accurate, complete, and compliant
• Maintain organised digital records using cloud-based accounting systems and document management platforms

• Minimum 3 years' bookkeeping experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm
• Proven experience managing bookkeeping for multiple Australian business clients
• Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping principles, GST, BAS, IAS, payroll, and general accounting processes
• Advanced working knowledge of Xero
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end procedures
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client deadlines
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
