Freelance Japanese Interpreter

• Facilitate accurate and effective communication between English-speaking and non-English-speaking individuals
• Prepare for interpreting sessions by reviewing materials and understanding context
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct
• Collaborate with LinguaLinx team members, clients, and other service providers
• Provide video remote interpretation for assignments such as community events, educational support, and healthcare appointments

• Completion of a 40-hour Medical Interpreting Training Course
• Proficiency in English and target language(s), both spoken and written
• Adherence to HIPAA
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Reliable internet connection for remote assignments
• Ability to work independently and adapt to various environments and client needs
• 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess valid U.S. work authorization
• May be subject to a background check
• Prior experience in medical, legal, or educational interpreting preferred
• Comfortable with simultaneous interpreting preferred
• Professional certifications (CCHI, NBCMI, or state court certification) a plus
