Senior Bookkeeper

• Own the quality, accuracy, completeness and timeliness of bookkeeping work for a group of US clients
• Review AI-assisted bookkeeping work and solve difficult or unclear cases
• Manage accounts payable, transaction coding, bank and credit card reconciliations, accounts receivable, month-end close, sales tax tracking and filings, 1099 preparation and the fixed-asset register
• Record errors, corrections and changes in a structured format to improve AI agents
• Identify repeated problems across clients and raise them with the Manager and product team
• Work with the product team to test improvements and help set quality standards
• Suggest and implement improvements to QuickBooks Online, Xero and other system settings and client information workflows
• Act as the main contact for day-to-day bookkeeping questions from US business owners and finance leads

• 7+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience
• At least 3 years working directly on US clients
• Exposure to multi-currency, inventory/COGS and complex reconciliations
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP fundamentals, cash and accrual accounting, multi-state sales tax, 1099 reporting, payroll journals and month-end close
• Advanced QuickBooks Online skills; QuickBooks ProAdvisor certified or equivalent
• Working knowledge of Xero and Dext
• Experience with Shopify, Gusto, Bill.com, Stripe and other payment gateway integrations
• Availability to work hours that overlap with the US business day
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Confidence leading conversations with US business owners
• Openness to working with an AI agent as a teammate, checking its work and providing clear feedback
• Clear written communication, especially in online, platform-based conversations
• Ability to explain accounting to business owners who are not finance experts
• Confidence making decisions on unclear accounting matters and explaining reasoning
• Personal responsibility for every client file
• Good judgment on when to escalate or ask for a second opinion
• Strong commitment to quality
