Business Development Manager – Data Center

• Develop and grow 3M's Data Center vertical business in India
• Own end-to-end Data Center Segment growth for 3M in India
• Translate complex, system-level customer requirements into 3M material and technology solutions
• Serve as technical interface for next-generation interconnect and performance material needs across electrical, thermal, and mechanical domains
• Map key customers and stakeholders, including hyperscalers, server/networking OEMs, ODMs, EMS/CM partners, and component convertors
• Bridge customer needs with 3M's technology roadmap across copper and optical interconnect, thermal management, and power/data transmission materials
• Own and execute the commercial sales plan, including account forecasting, pipeline management, and demand planning
• Collaborate with Global Key Account Managers, Segment Marketers, and Application Development Engineers
• Build and execute channel strategy for territory coverage and account penetration
• Negotiate commercial agreements and pricing
• Represent 3M at industry forums, standards bodies, and customer technical reviews
• Communicate customer and market insights internally to shape product development, application engineering priorities, and go-to-market strategy
• Track investments and expansion activity in India's Data Center ecosystem to identify and convert new leads
• Follow safety policies, identify hazards, and contribute to continuous EHS improvement
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• 10–15 years of combined technical (FAE/Solutions Architecture/Product Development) and commercial (sales/account management) experience
• Working understanding of data center system architecture, including servers, networking, power, and thermal management
• Ability to engage credibly with engineering and commercial decision-makers within hyperscaler, OEM, ODM, and EMS/CM organizations
• Strong grasp of 3M's Data Center-relevant portfolio versus competitor offerings
• Demonstrated ability to convert technical relationships into commercial outcomes, including forecasting, negotiation, and closing high-value opportunities
• Preferably based in Bangalore, with willingness to travel across India Data Center hub locations
• Prior experience working with hyperscalers, server/networking OEMs, or EMS/ODM partners highly preferred
• Basic understanding of electronics/data center hardware manufacturing processes and terminology
