AI Engineer

• Design and develop AI-powered features end to end—from initial concept through production implementation in internal workflows
• Work with LLMs and retrieval systems (RAG), integrating them into tools and processes
• Develop backend services, for example in Python, Node.js, or Java, to reliably deliver AI functionality
• Analyze internal workflows, identify automation opportunities, and implement solutions independently
• Develop assistant and automation features for Engineering, Product Management, QA, and Operations
• Build prototypes of future AI capabilities for software solutions, such as document processing and process support
• Ensure that all AI features are clearly documented, testable, and GDPR-compliant
• Use modern tools such as GitLab, Docker, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code

• Completed vocational training or a degree in IT, Data Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent qualification
• Very strong programming skills in at least one language, preferably Python; alternatively Java or TypeScript/Node.js
• Proficiency in AI technologies (MCPs, LLMs, RAG, vector databases) or strong motivation to develop further in these areas
• Good knowledge of software development, including APIs, automated testing, and CI/CD
• Knowledge of cloud computing, such as Azure, AWS, or comparable platforms
• Understanding of data protection and the secure, responsible use of AI, ideally in highly regulated markets
• Strong commitment to quality, initiative, and team spirit
• Good German and English skills (B2 level)
• Experience with Azure OpenAI or comparable models is a plus
• Experience in process analysis or workflow automation is a plus
• Basic knowledge of the healthcare sector is a plus
• Experience managing stakeholders at different organizational levels is a plus
