Junior Software Engineer

• Design, build, and maintain backend systems powering Canals’ platform alongside senior engineers
• Contribute to feature development, bug fixes, and performance improvements
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation
• Collaborate with product and design teams to bring ideas from concept to production
• Learn new tools and technologies and take on greater ownership over time

• Typically 0–2 years of professional experience as a software engineer; internships or projects count
• Solid programming fundamentals
• Familiarity with at least one backend language such as Go, Python, or Node
• Curiosity and desire to understand complex systems
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
