Freelance Full-Time English into Simplified Chinese – CTD Module Language Lead

• Translate and proofread Life Science documents from English into Simplified Chinese (China)
• Serve as a client-facing linguistic point of contact for TransPerfect
• Review and investigate client complaints and quality-related issues
• Determine root causes and provide timely, documented responses and corrective actions
• Maintain language quality standards across projects and accounts
• Manage translation memories, glossaries, and style guides
• Work with Project Managers to understand requirements, scope, timelines, and client expectations
• Gather and relay client feedback and incorporate it into ongoing and future work
• Manage and guide a group of linguists, including assigning work and providing feedback
• Ensure adherence to client requirements and quality standards
• Translate and proofread CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, and CTD Clinical materials
• Deliver accurate, consistent work compliant with client and regulatory terminology

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Simplified Chinese (China)
• Expertise in CTD Quality, CTD Non-Clinical, and/or CTD Clinical fields
• Strong attention to detail, including spelling and grammar accuracy
• Ability to maintain professionalism and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
• Strong client communication skills, including handling complaints and feedback diplomatically and constructively
• Ability to manage, mentor, and give clear feedback to other linguists
• Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional teams
• One of the following: degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or equivalent program with significant translation training from a recognized university; 2 years of professional translation experience plus a college degree; 5 years of professional translation experience without a college degree; or a translation competence certificate issued by an appropriate government authority

• Preferred: academic background in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field
• Preferred: experience translating regulatory/pharmaceutical documents
• Preferred: familiarity with CTD structure and terminology and CMC technical content
• Preferred: prior lead, reviewer, or quality management experience, including handling client feedback or complaints
• Preferred: experience with language asset management and CAT tools
• English and Simplified Chinese proficiency required
