Senior Accountant
About the role
• Participate in a broad range of full-cycle general ledger accounting activities within the corporate accounting team
• Analyze financial data to identify issues and inconsistencies
• Assist in internal and external financial reporting
• Implement and maintain consistent accounting policies and procedures across varied businesses
• Drive change and contribute to automation improvement initiatives for manual processes
• Record and manage general ledger transactions related to software capitalization, payroll, prepaid, debt, insurance, amortization, allocations, and intercompany activities
• Record and manage operating expense transactions across business units and ensure appropriate intercompany transactions
• Research general ledger transactions in subledgers and with other teams
• Own specific accounts and daily operational tasks such as allocations and benefits
• Prepare roll-forward account analyses, income statement account analyses, and account reconciliations
• Assist with financial statement support and public SEC filings
• Maintain accurate files and documentation in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
• Respond to accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting financial data
• Complete external audit requests by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing auditor information
• Perform special projects and analysis as requested
• Protect confidential financial and operational information
• Report directly to the Corporate Senior Accounting Manager and collaborate cross-functionally with financial planning, financial reporting, internal audit, tax, treasury, payroll, and company divisions
• B.S. in Accounting
• CPA, or equivalent
• 5-7 years related experience within a publicly held global, complex company
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Experience within a digital media company or related field a plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
• Pride in accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience with leading ERPs (Oracle Fusion a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications, especially excel
• Exposure and experience in Sarbanes Oxley a plus
• A passion for analytical technology a plus (i.e. Power BI, advanced excel skills)
