Data Scientist

• Apply advanced analytics and modeling to improve business results
• Leverage customer information and behavioral data to influence strategic business decisions
• Use complex, innovative analytics, multivariate models, machine learning, and data mining technologies
• Assist with and/or lead small projects operationalizing business decisions
• Potentially manage a team of up to two junior data scientists
• Execute projects involving consumer analytics, retention models, agency economics, and lead optimization
• Scope projects, define measures of success, establish a data science vision, and deliver within prescribed timelines
• Partner with IT, business, and data management/engineering teams to understand, use, and improve data infrastructure
• Advise on fundamental concerns and support fact-based decision-making and a measures-of-success culture
• Develop presentations and present to leadership
• Deploy models and rules across platforms and support testing of new solutions
• Mentor junior data science team members and provide technical and non-technical coaching

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum three years of work experience required in data analysis, statistical or mathematical modeling, or related
• Working knowledge and experience applying advanced analytics and modeling
• Knowledge of consumer analytics, including retention models, agency economics, and lead optimization
• Moderate knowledge of advanced programming, complex ETL, and specialized modeling methods
• Ability to produce clean, reusable code and effective documentation
• Ability to scope projects, define measures of success, and complete projects within prescribed timelines
• Ability to partner with IT, business, and data management/engineering teams
• Ability to develop presentations and present to leadership
• Ability to communicate complex technical material to non-technical associates
• Ability to manage moderate model deployments via MLOps techniques
• Ability to work with analytics and IT teams to deploy models/rules and support testing of new solutions
• Master's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, business analytics, or related preferred
