Staff Engineer

• Set the technical direction and target architecture for Docplanner’s patient-facing Marketplace
• Oversee architecture across search, listings, doctors’ profiles, and booking flows
• Shape the migration from the PHP monolith to the company monorepo using strangler routing, anti-corruption layers, shadow traffic, and staged source-of-truth flips
• Move domains from thin monolith proxies to natively owned data, business logic, and persistence in the monorepo
• Turn Marketplace capabilities into reusable, clearly contracted building blocks for Docplanner products
• Ship production Marketplace changes by directing AI coding agents
• Prototype risky migration and integration work and establish proven implementation paths for teams
• Drive AI-assisted workflows for legacy-code understanding, contracts, adapters, tests, and parity between old and new systems
• Help make Marketplace capabilities usable by AI agents
• Partner with Engineering Managers and Product Managers on planning and cross-team work
• Mentor senior engineers on architecture, system design, and pragmatic decision-making
• Contribute to Docplanner’s Staff+ community of practice and maintain consistent technical standards
• Define a written technical direction, expose core capabilities through versioned contracts, shrink the monolith, and drive adoption of AI-assisted workflows

• Technical leadership across several teams
• Experience dismantling a large legacy system while serving real traffic
• Experience with strangler pattern, anti-corruption layers, data migration, and dual-write pitfalls
• Strong distributed systems and backend architecture skills
• Comfortable working in a polyglot environment
• Hands-on experience using AI to accelerate software development
• Experience directing AI coding agents while maintaining design, correctness, and security
• Experience mentoring engineers
• Fluent English
