Senior Software Engineer – Platform

• Make data-driven and experience-driven decisions about the current and next generation production platform, then deliver the results
• Own and build code testing, building and deployment in a high-scale PaaS environment
• Collaborate across the company on production system design, standards, technology choices and product integration
• Deliver changes to production infrastructure in a predictable, safe and reliable way
• Help shape collaboration practices as part of the Platform Engineering team
• Build out the company’s Platform/Reliability practice
• Participate directly in decisions about work priorities and execution
• Participate in incident management and determine sensible platform practices
• Create and maintain comprehensive internal documentation for systems and processes
• Provide periodic on-call support for owned services

• Strong experience in Non-Abstract Systems design and implementation
• Strong proficiency in Python and Golang
• In-depth experience with Kubernetes (CKA or equivalent or greater)
• Experience with observability principles and technologies, including SLI/SLO definition and tracking
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with a globally distributed team in delivery
• Passion for reliability and operational excellence
• Ability to estimate scope accurately and coordinate with stakeholders to address risks and ensure successful project delivery
• Experience with software development best practices, including code review, testing, CI/CD, version control, automation and debugging
• Proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues, with a focus on ownership and accountability
• Bonus: Experience working on a SaaS/PaaS product across multiple cloud providers
