Analytics Engineer – Specialist I, Data Directorate

• Lead data modeling and maintain robust layers in GCP/BigQuery
• Translate complex business rules into clean, efficient, version-controlled code
• Build ad hoc exploratory analyses to investigate issues and generate insights
• Prevent data-related impacts on Data Science models
• Implement automated testing, quality monitoring, and technical documentation
• Ensure the reliability of critical metrics and compliance with Brazil’s LGPD data protection law
• Optimize query and pipeline performance and control cloud processing costs
• Collaborate with Product Managers and business teams on discovery and solution architecture
• Build semantic layers in Looker
• Mentor the team through code reviews, pairing, and best practices
• Promote a Self-Service BI culture
• Investigate root causes and lead requests from requirements through production validation

• Consultative profile, with the autonomy to lead end-to-end processes
• Experience with discovery, refinement, documentation, development, validation, and production delivery
• Strong commitment to testing, governance, LGPD compliance, and reducing recurring incidents
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and Google BigQuery
• Governance of query and process efficiency and costs
• Proficiency in Python for data applications and in creating and maintaining Stored Procedures (PROCs)
• Solid experience in data modeling and semantic layer development
• Extensive experience with Looker, metric layers, and interactive dashboards
• Hands-on experience with Airflow
• Experience with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines
