Applied Research Engineer – AI Agent Research, Development, Client Implementation

• Research, develop, and enhance advanced AI agents utilizing LLMs, RAG, and related AI technologies
• Design and improve core AI agent logic, architectures, and workflows
• Design and execute PoCs to validate research findings and evaluate practical business applications
• Develop and implement AI agent solutions tailored to enterprise customer requirements
• Design evaluation frameworks and continuous improvement processes for production AI agents
• Conduct accuracy evaluations, benchmarking, prompt optimization, and workflow improvements
• Translate customer business challenges into technical requirements with Product Managers and consultants
• Lead technical decision-making through experimentation, validation, and hands-on implementation
• Collaborate with AI/NLP researchers, engineers, Product Managers, and consultants
• Apply insights from experiments and customer implementations to improve AI products and future research initiatives

• Research experience in AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP), or Machine Learning, including academic or industry research
• Knowledge of and hands-on development experience with Generative AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG, or AI agents
• Strong Python programming skills, with the ability to independently conduct experiments, evaluate results, and develop prototypes
• Ability to evaluate technical validation results from both product development and business value perspectives
• Ability to translate experimental findings into actionable technical improvements and product development decisions
• Ability to reside in Japan
• Experience designing, developing, or evaluating LLM-based AI agents and agent workflows
• Experience developing AI evaluation frameworks, benchmarking systems, or accuracy evaluation processes
• Experience leading customer-facing PoC projects or applied AI research and development initiatives
• Experience commercializing research outcomes or integrating advanced AI technologies into production products
• Knowledge of statistical modeling, Bayesian inference, or probabilistic modeling
• Experience publishing or presenting research at international conferences, academic journals, or domestic research conferences
• Experience working in corporate R&D organizations, AI startups, or research-driven product development environments
• Passion for combining advanced AI research with practical business applications
• Strong ownership and ability to independently drive research, experimentation, and implementation
• Ability to bridge academic research, engineering, and enterprise business requirements
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills
• Comfortable working with evolving requirements and developing solutions through hypothesis-driven experimentation
• Interest in collaborating with researchers, engineers, and enterprise customers to develop innovative AI products
