Engineering Manager, Java

• Lead the Data Activation teams as B2Spin scales its Free-to-Play Social Casino platform
• Coordinate priorities across cross-functional teams and ensure reliable, timely delivery
• Conduct performance reviews, support career growth, and handle people challenges
• Champion architecture patterns, code quality, and pragmatic technical trade-offs
• Partner with Product Managers, analysts, and stakeholders to define initiatives and remove blockers
• Improve team planning and coordination processes as the organization grows
• Lead incident response and root-cause analysis
• Follow through on improvements that strengthen platform resilience

• Substantial backend engineering experience with deep expertise in the Java ecosystem
• Strong foundation in software development fundamentals
• Proven experience building and operating high-load, event-driven, cloud-native systems at scale
• Experience leading teams delivering complex production systems
• Experience balancing technical direction with people management
• Production operations experience, including incident response and post-mortems
• Ability to engage with product initiatives, surface engineering risks, and identify gaps
• Ability to scope work realistically, align stakeholders, and communicate trade-offs
• Frontend experience is a plus
• Background in iGaming, fintech, or other high-throughput, real-time platforms is nice to have
• Experience transitioning from a senior individual contributor role into people leadership is nice to have
• Hands-on familiarity with Kafka, Kubernetes, or GCP is nice to have
• Familiarity with Java 25, Spring Boot 4, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Kafka, AlloyDB for PostgreSQL, Redis/Memcached/Valkey, GitHub, ELK/Sentry/Grafana, Jira/Confluence/Slack
• Comfortable working in an AI-driven engineering environment
