Specialty Representative, Migraine

About the role

• Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field
• Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives
• Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts
• Build strong customer relationships and customer-needs-solving capability
• Create pre-call plan objectives and conduct post-call evaluations
• Handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns and gain calls to action to close sales calls
• Serve customer needs and expectations and build trusted customer relationships
• Develop and execute call plans to optimize coverage and frequency for key customers
• Build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales expertise
• Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales-management teams
• Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers
• Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates

• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five (5) years of relevant and equivalent industry experience, including three (3) or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, and a high school diploma/GED required
• Proven track record of leadership success
• Solid presentation skills

• Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach
• Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
• Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing
• In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge preferred
• English language proficiency verbally and in writing preferred for non-English-speaking countries
• Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain them
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements
• Ability to drive a personal auto, company car/truck, or powered material-handling equipment
