Senior Engineering Manager – Payments

• Own the Payments area and lead a team of 7–9 engineers
• Partner with the Product Manager and Design to decide product and engineering investments
• Set expectations, provide regular feedback, run reviews and calibrations, and address underperformance
• Build individual growth plans, coach through pairing and code review, create stretch opportunities, and develop senior engineers and tech leads
• Stay hands-on in the codebase by implementing features and architectural changes
• Maintain AI-native engineering practices while preserving quality and reducing operational burden
• Track and communicate delivery speed, quality, team engagement and product outcomes
• Run experiments, validate user value, and pivot based on user feedback
• Build Payments tools that improve healthcare payment management, retention, engagement and continuity of care

• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 4+ years leading engineering teams in product companies, including hiring, growth and performance management
• Track record of growing people and handling difficult performance situations
• Hands-on experience using AI to speed up code writing, reviewing and refactoring
• Good judgment on when not to rely on AI
• Founder mindset and experience moving quickly from idea to experiment and validating with real users
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and try new approaches
• Fluent English
• Must be located in Poland with permission to work; visa sponsorship may be required
• Ability to work in Europe
• Experience in payments or fintech, PSPs, reconciliation or compliance (nice to have)
• Experience working at scale (nice to have)
