Senior Staff Product Designer – AI

• Lead design for Deel’s AI products, including Deel AI, Akai, chat interfaces, agents and developer tools
• Set the design direction for AI across the platform, including in-chat actions, agent workflows, proactive notifications, anomaly detection and human-in-the-loop moments
• Create clear AI design standards and reusable patterns with the design system team
• Help teams identify and implement AI applications in their products
• Conduct user research, competitor analysis and regular dogfooding of AI products
• Work across company functions, including US sales, risk and compliance
• Make independent design decisions while moving quickly between topics
• Mentor designers and grow the AI design practice
• Collaborate with the Principal Designer on the intelligent OS layer and connected product experience

• 8+ years in product design, including 3+ years at Staff level or above
• Deep experience designing AI products such as conversational UX, agents, copilots and automation
• Experience taking an AI product or feature from zero to one and scaling it
• At least one AI feature shipped inside a product with a proven result
• Ability to explain the problem, research, prototype, launch and outcome of a shipped AI feature
• Excellent craft and a portfolio containing at least one case study
• Uses AI tools in design work and follows new AI releases
• Systems-thinking and comfort working with ML engineers on error states and confidence thresholds
• Ability to work quickly and figure things out independently
• Ability to ship own work to production (nice to have)
• Experience applying behavioural science to AI products (nice to have)
• Background in payroll, HR, fintech or compliance, or relevant personal projects (nice to have)
