Bookkeeper, Day Shift
About the role
• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, accurate data entry, and maintenance of financial records
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, collections, and follow-up
• Conduct bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Process and maintain supplier invoices, payments, records, and supporting documentation
• Handle supplier correspondence and resolve routine account issues
• Assist with month-end closing, reconciliations, reporting, and account-balance verification
• Prepare routine financial reports and supporting schedules for finance and management review
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and transaction documentation
• Respond to internal and external finance-related enquiries
• Support order administration and related finance administration
• Maintain organised financial records and audit trails in line with internal processes and controls
• Assist with audit and compliance preparation
• Support continuous improvement of bookkeeping, finance administration, and record-management processes
• Provide general bookkeeping and finance administration support to the wider finance team
• Perform other position-level duties as required
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related discipline is preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in bookkeeping, accounts, finance administration, or a similar accounting support role is essential
• Practical experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and general bookkeeping is essential
• Sound understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles and accurate financial record keeping is essential
• Experience supporting month-end activities, reconciliations, financial reporting, and account balance reviews is essential
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is essential
• Experience with accounting systems such as Xero or QuickBooks is highly regarded
• Experience supporting Australian or international accounting and finance processes is preferred
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail are essential
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and competing priorities, are essential
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve routine account discrepancies is essential
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills are essential
• Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and finance team members is essential
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while independently managing assigned responsibilities is essential
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and service standards is essential
• Work from home
• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM AEST/AEDT, with daylight-saving adjustments
